News from the Muse, Strange but True February 15, 2012

The News from the Muse brings you stories of the strange and bizarre. How far above the law is a Judge exactly when they dismiss their own charges. In Oregon one couple has put a strange new twist on the concept of showing how tied up in knots love can make you. In Indiana one burglar has a unique way of breaking into a house, not to steal but to cook and clean.

It’s another day of bizarre and strange stories from around the nation brought to you by News from the Muse. Searching far and wide the Muse finds those rare stories that may just make you laugh and start out your day on a note of humor. People do the strangest things and many times when you read something in the paper or see it on the news it makes you stop and say, huh? So, without further ado…

  • Case Dismissed?

In Lancaster, Pennsylvania a judge has been relieved of her duties after she accessed court computers and dismissed three of her own traffic tickets. The less than honorable Judge Kelly Ballentine dismissed tickets for parking violations and an expired registration on her vehicle. Not only did she not pay the fines, she also didn’t go to court for summonses that had been served on her, and she chose to dismiss those summonses as well while she was in the computer. She was jailed and is on administrative leave pending resolution of the 12 charges against her. This begs the question is she on “paid” administrative leave?

  • Happy Valentine’s Day!?!

A couple in Portland, Oregon were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct when they got caught in a rather precarious sexual role playing situation. Nikolas Harbar tied and duct taped the mouth of his naked girlfriend, Stephanie Pelzner, then put her in a car and drove away. A witness who saw the nude woman in Harbar’s car called the police. When the police pulled him over he stated that this was a sex role-playing game. Apparently the two love birds are now jail birds in a game that the police didn’t find quite so funny.

  • Cleaning Crook?

In South Bend, Indiana, Ashley Murray and her son returned home to a surprise. A burglar had broken into their home and decided to cook, clean and even folded up some laundry. The man, Keith Davis, apparently thought he was in his own home and when the police arrived at the home the man truly believed it was his own house he was at. Davis was on some sort of drug or mentally imbalanced and is going to undergo psychological evaluations to determine the extent and nature of his problem. Murray was worried about the man returning to her home but the Judge decided to lower the bail from $5,000 to $1,000. At least if he does return she can count on coming home to a clean house and a hot meal.
